Notice of Hearing

The Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Quapaw Tribe will hold a public hearing on January 29, 2004 at 3:00 pm at the Quapaw Tribe Community building in Quapaw Oklahoma, to receive public comments on the proposed Quapaw Tribe Water Quality Standards.  The hearing is part of the process to implement water quality standards for surface water within the exterior boundaries of the Quapaw Tribe reservation and trust lands, and will be held pursuant to section 303(c) of the Clean Water Act and in accordance with the public participation regulation (40 CFR Part 25).

Interested persons are invited to attend and submit oral or written comments on the proposed water quality standards.  Witnesses desiring to be scheduled in advance should notify the Environmental Department of The Quapaw Tribe, in writing, setting out the identity of the witness and the estimated length of time of the testimony.  Written comments are invited and will be received at the hearing.  A period of time will be reserved for unscheduled testimony.  Written comments may be mailed to The Quapaw Tribe and will be accepted until February 12, 2004.
